Tom's practice is focused on the civil law, concentrated in the areas of real property, timber and forestry, business transactions, contracts, estate planning, wills and trusts, construction defects, environmental law, land use, administrative law and general civil matters.  Tom has experience litigating a variety of complex civil matters including partitions, boundary disputes, easements, contracts, construction defects, and adverse possession. He represents many clients regarding estate planning, preparing a wide variety of estate documents including wills, family trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and other related documents.

Tom has experience representing clients facing criminal charges based on laws or regulations related to timber operations, forestry or other environmental violations.  He also is connected with qualified personal injury attorneys and can provide referrals in the event of accidents.
